Privacy Policy

Who we are

Chronic ("we", "us") provides a multi-condition telehealth service: clinician-led care for chronic inflammation and the conditions it can contribute to (chronic pain, chronic depression, chronic anxiety and chronic fatigue), alongside metabolic health and men's sexual & fertility health, together with the Outcomes-OS, which tracks the quality of your results. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account & profile: name, email, jurisdiction, and the care pathways you enrol in.
• Health information: inflammatory markers such as hs-CRP and ESR, body-composition and weight measurements, prescriptions and dose history, lab/scan orders and results, consultation records, allergies and contraindications you share for clinical safety, and messages with your care team.
• Mental-health information: where you use our depression or anxiety pathways, we collect validated symptom scores (such as PHQ-8 and GAD-7) and your answers to safety screening questions, including questions about thoughts of self-harm. This is sensitive health data. We collect it because it is clinically necessary to treat you safely, we restrict access to your care team on a minimum-necessary basis, and we may act on it to reach you if you appear to be at risk.
• Symptom scores: pain and fatigue ratings you record, used to track whether treatment is working.
• Wearable / device signals: if you connect a source (Apple Health, Health Connect, Whoop, Oura), we ingest downsampled daily trends (e.g. weight, steps, resting heart rate), not raw continuous streams. A missing reading is shown as a gap, never inferred.
• Payment & usage: billing status processed by our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers), and basic app diagnostics.

How we use it

• To deliver your care: consultations, prescriptions, diagnostic orders, and fulfilment.
• To power the Outcomes-OS (your hs-CRP North Star, validated symptom scores, and monthly progress) so you and your clinician can see what's working.
• To enforce clinical safety (contraindication and interaction checks before any medication).
• To operate, secure, and support the service.

How we share it

Your clinical information is visible only to your assigned care team on a role-scoped, need-to-know basis (the doctor sees full clinical detail; a coach or pharmacy sees only what their task requires; business roles see your name and pathway, not your clinical detail). We use vetted processors strictly to provide the service (payments, video consults, scheduling, lab and pharmacy partners) under contract. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. Sensitive clinical content is never sent over insecure messaging channels in plain text.

Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as required for medical record-keeping and legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Access is authenticated, permission-checked, and audit-logged. Connections are encrypted in transit.

Your choices & rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your information, withdraw consent, and disconnect any wearable source at any time. To exercise a right, email privacy@chronic.md. See also our User Privacy Choices.

Children

Chronic is for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.

Changes

We will update this policy as the service evolves and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
